Sunday Readings

Today in church we heard the story from the Gospel of Luke that someone (not Jesus, and not the evangelist who wrote the Gospel) decided should be called "The Prodigal Son." But Ambrose of Milan, that 4th century Doctor of the Church, teacher of Augustine, calls it the story of God who runs to you. Read from his commentary on the Gospel of Luke here.

Here's a fun quiz at Beliefnet.com called "What Kind of Christian Are You?" Twenty-one questions that challenge you to think about how you think of the Bible, Jesus, incarnation, resurrection, and more. Quizzes are always a little hokey (don't bother with the "What's your spiritual type" one), and this one also does not always have the answer choice I would put down, but it is an interesting exercise that might get you thinking about your beliefs - a good Lenten activity.
